At Moray Osteopaths we are committed to excellence in patient care and we specialise in providing only the highest quality Osteopathic treatment and we are committed to returning our patients back to full health in the quickest and gentlest way possible.
The Elgin branch of Moray Osteopaths was established by Registered Osteopaths Nigel and Elizabeth Robinson in 1993, and in 1999 they opened an additional Practice in Forres.
Nigel and Elizabeth are members of the General Osteopathic Council, Scottish Osteopathic Association and the British Medical Acupuncture Society.
Both Nigel and Elizabeth, as members of the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) can use, where appropriate, Medical Acupuncture in conjunction with Osteopathy or Medical Acupuncture on its own to treat patients.
Moray Osteopaths also run a specialist Children’s Clinic for the treatment of babies and children. This treatment mostly involves using the very gentle approach of Cranial Osteopathy.
When you visit Moray Osteopaths you will be treated in a friendly, comfortable Practice run to the highest professional standards by people fully committed to getting you better and back to normal health in the shortest time.
Nigel and Elizabeth, together with staff members of the Moray Osteopaths team, are registered with Disclosure Scotland.
WHY CHOOSE MORAY OSTEOPATHS
Moray Osteopaths are in a unique position of being able to combine diagnostic skills with a variety of different treatment methods such as Osteopathy, Medical Acupuncture and Cranial Osteopathic techniques to give their patients the best possible care.
VISITING THE OSTEOPATH
Osteopathy is a practical “hands on” treatment that may include one or more different techniques, from very gentle soft tissue techniques, careful specific mobilisation techniques, exercises and postural advice to specialist treatment methods such as Cranial Osteopathy or Medical Acupuncture.
When you visit the Osteopath for the first time they will listen to you, take a full medical history and this will then be followed by a thorough clinical examination. Your Osteopath will diagnose the problem and will then develop a specific treatment plan for you that is designed to help relieve the immediate problem in the shortest possible time. Moray Osteopaths are passionate about preventing problems and your Osteopath will look at prevention, how best to try and avoid a recurrence of the problem, give advice on posture, on work position and may prescribe suitable exercises as required.
WHY CHOOSE AN OSTEOPATH
Osteopaths have an extensive four year specialist training, and have over 2,000 hours of clinical training in the diagnosis and treatment of Patients.
Osteopaths work in co-operation with GP’s to keep them informed and may refer back to GP’s for X-Rays where necessary.
Osteopathic treatment is both gentle and effective. Osteopathy has been a part of medicine for over a hundred years and is a very safe and natural way of treating a wide range of problems.
Cranial Osteopathy is a specialist and subtle type of Osteopathic treatment that uses very light touch to encourage the release of stresses throughout the body, including the head, returning a state of natural balance to the body.
Cranial Osteopathy can be helpful in the care of young children and is one of the treatments used in our Children’s Clinic.
Both Nigel and Elizabeth Robinson are members of and accredited with the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) where members are all registered Healthcare Professionals with orthodox training in Western Medical practices and who have undergone recognised acupuncture training.
Acupuncture is a treatment that can relieve symptoms of some physical conditions and may encourage the patient’s body to heal and repair itself, if it is able to do so.
